Barra MacNeils at the
Spring Gulch Folk Festival cont'd
The last time we saw the Barras was in February. They had to end the show early because we were in the midst of a blizzard and the cops were getting ready to close the roads. It took us an hour and a half to make the usual 15-minute ride home. They joked about that and then dedicated “The Snowplow Set” to us who braved the rain.

In the middle of the show it started to rain again and they covered everything up. But then it cleared enough for Lucy and Stewart to entertain us with their step dancing. They were great! Their Mom, Jean, teaches step dancing at the Gaelic College in Cape Breton. Plus we heard her play a mean piano late one night last summer! By the end of the show, their audience had grown by leaps and bounds, and a goodly portion of the audience was dancing. Jane and Nancy’s kids were up dancing for a while. The Barras seemed to enjoy that a lot.
Lucy and Kyle fiddling up a storm to the Clumsy Lover Set. It's just so cool that these siblings get along so well and enjoy each others' company. Lots of support shown on stage.
Both Lucy and Stewart are great step dancers.
The rain didn't dampen the spirit of the show at all.
