Barras in Toronto
When the Barras came out, they all recognized Andi and smiled at her. They began their set with one of my favorite Barras' tunes - Clumsy Lover. But it wasn't the same set as the one on their older album, they had exchanged other tunes for the old ones. It took a little getting used to.

Since I was so close, I didn't use the flash - I would have blinded them I'm sure.
The Barras' troupe has enlarged in recent times with the addition of Boyd and Ryan MacNeil, younger siblings of the originals. Boyd and Ryan bring voice, guitar, fiddle, pipes, bodhran and whistles to the stage. Very personable fellows also. A great move, I think. The good music is still good and the young ones fit right in.
After the Clumsy Lover Set with alternate tunes, came my second favorite Barra MacNeils song - Rattlin' Roarin' Willie. That's the one which is on the Fire in the Kitchen CD with the Chieftains. One day I will learn that tune. It has to be such fun to play!

Coal Town Road follwed with the Barras crisp clear harmonies filling the room. A lot of people were signing along during the chorus.
