Great Big Sea Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle 9/2/01
This is the sight which greeted us as we walked thru Seattle Center toward the GBS venue at the Tesoro Bumbrella Stage. Below is what Seattle and the venue looked like from way up there at the top of the Space Needle! It was an amazing view I am really happy with the photos of the scenery there.
This is the bay that the Needle looks out on. In the picture in the middle of the bay is a cruise ship.

Attended with my 85 year old Mom (her 2nd concert-both GBS!), Gracie, Sunflower, Fred, and a bunch of people we met up with afterwards. After waiting in the world’s longest ATM line, we had pushed our way up front for the Red Elvises, who were a very good opener for GBS by the way. We found ourselves in the 2nd row back.

The Red Elvises are from Russia and put on quite an entertaining show. We spent a good bit of it hoping that Alan wasn't watching. The one guy has an unusual wardrobe, shall we say. At one point he dropped his pants and played in his boxers. The show ended with 7 bellydancers on stage with them. I guess the b'ys enjoyed being backstage before the bellydancers came out.
This guy is the drummer who traded instuments for a while with "Elvis." He was a grinning fool!

Gracie and I were stage Bob, Diane stage Séan and Fred stage Alan. Before we appeared at the Bumbrella Stage where the b'ys played, Gracie walked around and thought she saw Séan shaving in the backstage area. She prolly did! Danny got some cheers for la la-ing This was before his famous haircut. I will miss the curls.
