Fall Foliage Roadtrip cont'd.
In the midst of all thislack of color, I felt I was back at Mount St. Helen's in Washington State. Miles of gray, lifeless vistas. But as I turned to take another photo of the playground, therewas, not more than 100 feet away, a gorgeously clad tree. I couldn't resist juxtaposing the tree I stood next to with this beautiful one.

We left Centralia on our way to World's End State Park with a renewed appreciation for the things we have in life. We stopped at a general store in Numidia and were greeted by a man named George who took one look at the antennas on the car and introduced himself with his Ham Radio call sign. Vic and he chatted Radio for a while and Marcus and I enjoyed the anachronistic general store. It hasn't changed much in 50 years. Turns out, George owns the airport down the road which was once part of the Transcontinental mail delivery route. Never know who you are going to run into! Here are the scenes which greeted us as we drove the great circle route to the state park.
