| After we went thru the Narrows (named because it is only 100 feet wide), I chatted with Duane about how much water the boat drew and how long it was. He says, "You want to steer the boat? You have obviously sailed before." I took full advantage of his offer and took the wheel. First I asked him if it steered like a car or a boat. He laughed and said, "car." Well, I didn't want to run smack into Cape Spear now, did I? At some point the nice Captain left me at the wheel to go unfurl the sails. I was thrilled to do that and scared to death, but I didn't crash the boat. Andi also got to steer the boat around Cape Spear. Cool, huh? After werounded Cape Spear, we found some whales along the shore. There were some Minkes and some Humpbacks, too. Then the sun began to set and I got some great photos. |
