Andi & Anne's Gaelic College Adventure Day 2
So we snuck into Canada and on to Saint John, New Brunswick. We took time to see the Reversing Falls. The Saint John River flows into the Bay of Fundy, which can have tides of up to 40 feet. Twice a day the river flows up. Neat effect. We stopped at the tourist trap and Andi stole a GBS poster off the wall for me. There was a neat magnet toobut we didn't steal that! – it said, “Dull women have immaculate houses.” We both had a laugh about that. And the funniest comment from an elderly lady from Maryland, watching the Reversing Falls, “It just makes me want to go to the bathroom.”

Reversing Falls in Saint John, New Brunswick
Saint John River has those huge tides which happen in the Bay of Fundy and you can see here the boat way up the hill that was in the water 6 hours ago.
Saw this sign and had to take a picture because it is Missy's hometown.
We continued to push onward to Stacy’s house in Paradise, Nova Scotia. Learned something along the way. Were you aware that Stewiake, Nova Scotia is halfway between the North Pole and the Equator? Although the ride was uneventful, it was LONG. When we finally got there, we’d been driving for 17 hours. Stacy was nice enough to offer us space in her house for a couple nights. We met Stacy’s sister Linda and Sam the dog and Blair, Jasper and Jesse the cats. Blair is the biggest cat I have ever seen. Stacy and her sister are two of the nicest people you’d want to meet. Haven’t been disappointed by a GBS fan introduction yet! After a nice sleep at Stacy’s we set out on the road to Delusion to visit Andi’s favorite lighthouse at Margaret(s)ville. Andi the nut went for a swim in the Bay of Fundy. She claims it wasn’t cold but I have a photo that proves otherwise. But Andi is a candidate for the Polar Bear Swim on New Year’s Day because she just went on swimming. While she was making her skin turn blue I was chatting with a Margaretville native who was walking a huge Chihuahua. Turns out that the dog was only half Chihuahua – the other half was Whippet. I wanna know HOW that happened! Dog’s name was Dusty and the lady’s name was Myrtle.

I also had my first Donair today! Andi talked me into trying it. It was good! I was surprised. Just spent the rest of the day enjoying Stacy’s company. Best quote at Stacy’s? “He doesn’t have issues, he has subscriptions.”

10 years ago this little water fall was level with the rest of the cliff. Erosion is a concern in Margaretville for the homeowners near the edge
