Glengarry Bhoys at Brittingham's
Glengarry Bhoys were fun at Brittingham’s. What was NOT fun was the way my brain worked in remembering where the place was. The directions were really simple if I had been able to keep them in my brain long enough to make the 30 minute drive to the turnpike exit. I got off the exit ramp and turned onto the wrong street, asked directions to the wrong street while on the correct street. Drove to the wrong street to realize that it was indeed the wrong street, then doubled back to where we had first asked directions (the right street) and went down the road apiece. And there was Brittingham’s! Next time I’ll just print out the directions no matter how simple they are.

Nancy and I finally arrived and were shown to the bar to eat. Who does the waitress sit us next to but Howard from GBS' Online Kitchen Party! At least we knew someone there! Turns out we knew someone else there, too. I sit down to hear, “Anne from Philly!” I figured it had to be someone from the GBS OKP and it was. Tim Murphy whom I met in NYC at the World Trade Center last summer and at the Keswick Theater last week for the Uprooted Tour. Turns out he hasa band that is playing at Brittingham's soon. WHo'd a thunk?

The place gradually filled up to about 100 people but started out not crowded. The Bhoys got into it well and we had great fun.
James was a big hit this evening. He started out playing the bagpipes but rapidly showed us his other talents. Spoons appeared, as well as whistles and the keyboard. Talented guy, that James. Put that Music degree to good use! And Graham had a running joke going on all night with a young lady who groped his arse earlier at the bar. Plus there was some discussion on how to get Zig to play naked. Hmmmm...
That was the best picture I got of Zig. He's funny and sings well, in addition to playing a mean set of drums. Graham's songs had everyone right where he wanted them and we enjoyed his stage banter.

At one point, Shelly disappeared, then reappeared in the aisles, step dancing up a storm!
Not to be outdone by Shelly, James did a dance of his own around the tables and ended up right next to Nancy. He dances well too!
I neglected to write down the setlist as I was hearing it  and being a relatively new Glengarry Bhoys fan, I don't know all the song titles but I know I heard Bonnie Broom, I'm Alive, Over the Mountain, P is for Paddy, a song in French (I know, that's no help at all). most of the JUICE CD, some from other CDs  and a whole slew of enjoyable instrumentals.

Howard went gah-gah over Shelly and I took his picture with her. Missed a great blackmail opportunity. Oh well, gotta be nice to Howard, he's my GBS buddy!

It was my 5th Glengarry Bhoys show tonight. Bought another CD but neglected to get it signed. DUH! Now I have a shirt, a sticker for the car, and 2 CDs. Guess that makes me an official fan. Thanks to Great Big Sea and the East of the Hebrides Festival for the introduction to the Glengarry Bhoys.

Oh and by the way, JUICE makes great roadtrip music!
Sorry Shelly! I was in the wrong place to be taking a flattering photo of you dancing!
The second photo is after the dancing, in more comfortable shoes.
