GBS/Hammerstein
Sunday morning dawned way too early for me as I had to drive Karen to work near the Delaware/
Pennsylvania border by 10 AM.  Despite having to get up way too early after a GBS show, I was still on the high from the night before. When I got back, we ate at the King Street Grille in Malvern before departing for NYC. Can't beat King Street for filling food! And lots of it!

Steph packed up as she was going home today. Columbine and Helen and I would come back after tonight's show. The plan was to get Steph to NYC's Grand Central Station so she could catch the train to Brewster where someone would pick her up. We were unsure whether or not we were going to Tir Na Nog before the show.

I made sure to bring my Dad's cane/seat he used to use at the casinos. He had a bum foot for as long as I can remember and used the cane when he'd find himself in a spot where he had to stand for a long time. I was a bit concerned for my foot this evening as it was GA, standing room only, in my section. The last time I stood all night for a GBS show, I could barely walk the next day. I thought I would have preferred first row in the Mezzanine, but I got tix with Helen and Columbine. And now I was really having second thoughts about it.
The ride to NYC was pretty unremarkable, making good time and getting thru the Lincoln Tunnel without too much hassle. EZPass is the only way to go!

We got a good view of the city after passing under the sign which claimed their city was the
Embroidery Capital of the World.
Although I was not familiar with the theatre, I have been to NYC many times and was comfortable driving thru the city streets. The problem was getting to Grand Central Station. Who knew it was above the street level? LOL! We actually passed it twice before we figured out where it was and stopped to let Steph off. I was glad she got to roadtrip with us. She was a great trip buddy despite not feeling well all weekend.

We acted like the tourists we were and snapped a picture of the Empire State Building as we drove by. We even found the Statue of Liberty shopping around Fifth Avenue. She was trying to be incognito. Can you spot her below?
I was hoping to see a parking garage but I couldn't fnd one until we were right at the venue! Glory hallelujah! There was one right next door to the Hammerstein! A bit pricey, but being next to the theater was the selling point. I knew I would not have been able to walk far at all after a night standing. After parking, we joined the line-up already in progress. Chris and Shelly were there, Amy and Christine and Lynda. Helen fell in behind as Columbine and I went across the street to Quiznos to use the facilities and get lunch for the three of us.
When I asked the security guy about the camera he said it was okay as long as I didn't use flash on the b'ys. So I was relieved.

I love this photo of Howard, caught as he joined the lineup a bit later with Cheryl and Rich and his lovely wife.

I didn't even recognise Rich until I got the photos home and began editing.
This was Chris's first GBS show as well as Amy and Christine's first show.
We tried to tell them about it, but it's something you have to experience for yourself to fully apprecate.

The line filled up pretty quickly after we arrived and I was glad we didn't go to Tir Na Nog beforehand.
Michele looks pretty happy with the photo I snapped with no flash although Endi is probably wondering what I'll put up online about her. They are both great people and worthy of calling friends.

I didn't even have to run, not that I COULD, to get a spot between Bob and Sean. Chris and Shelly were on one side, Amy and Chritina on the other, Michele and Endi right behind.
Helen was hanging out closer to Alan and Columbine didn't want to be in the crush, so she was hanging out in the back. We had arranged to meet up after the show at the parking garage if we got "lost."

Britt came out and placed water bottles, towels and a setlist at each mic. Sean got a little extra tonight.
And now, heeeere's GBS!
