The Hard & the Easy Tour

“It would truly suck if you weren’t here,” Alan spoke into the mic. And then we got a whiff of what their afternoon was like. It had been a gorgeous day in Philly, about 75 degrees, and they took advantage of it by using the soccer field not far from the theater and playing an impromptu game. “We played soccer this afternoon and defeated the Kindergarten class...barely." quipped Alan. "The young fellow in the white shirt got so angry when I called him names, He wanted a piece of me I think.”

Then Séan began singing a song I should remember the title to but don’t – “Everytime you go away, you take a piece of me with you, everytime you go away you take a piece of meat with you…you know this much is true.” And Alan got to giggling for the first of umpteen times that evening.
Bob enjoying the soccer story before Graceful and Charming
Graceful and Charming was gracefully done as Séan introduced the song – “My grandparents were married for 62 years and this is the song that put them together.” Vic’s grandmother taught us that song when we were first dating at age 17 or 18. I liked it then and I like it even more now! And Bob's whistle combined with Murray's bass was the perfect accompaniment . I cannot say I noticed any other instruments although I am fully aware that Alan and Kris were playing theirs. Chalk it up to a beautiful song. I had my eyes closed for half the song I think, in la-la land. Photos seem to indicate that Kris was playing accordion. *cue embarrassed look*
