Scolding Wife came next and I was ecstatic! I had really missed it in NYC when they didn't do it. Alan began the song a tad low and Bob was waaaay down there singing his verse. But sing he did! This is the best trad in the new album. It was introduced as "a song we can't be held responsible for." At this point, Karen yelled out "Yeah! Scolding Wife!" and Alan looked over, surprised but smiling. "- It's a traditional song about a scolding wife who prefers drink to her husband."

Now after that, I really grinned a lot because they played
Feel It Turn again. I have never much liked it live but the addition of the tom toms and percussion that Kris does really makes that song for me now. Thanks Kris!

In rapid order with hardly a breath between them came
Everything Shines and then

Mari Mac - a pretty fast version tonight but once again, you couldn't hear what Sean was saying. They have the instruments turned up too loud for that song every time!

Lukey was the last song on the setlist and we were all up dancing and singing. My deep apologies to the person in front of me whose hair I caught on my ring several times. I think the only cure for that would've been to get up and dance though.

Encore
Boston and St. John's "This song is sent out across the ocean." Alan was so much a performer with this song. He closed his eyes, changed his voice, looked pained and made us all melt. At the point where he sang "Can you love me anyway?" he was swinging his foot back and forth like a little kid!

Excursion was next with Darrell in good voice but it seemed like the others were trying to find their notes in the beginning. We got to hear some of Bob's low harmony tonight. Thanks Bob - that's what makes the Road Rage version my favorite! While they were finishing with Excursion, Danny was making sure everyone had the right instruments for Feller From Fortune. He came out to give Alan his guitar and ended up waltzing with him!I think that something else went on here with dancing but I can't read my notes here. LOL! If I decipher it later I'll get back to you.

Feller was fun and very energetic this evening. I must compliment Bob this evening. He really looked and acted as if he was having a grand time. Lots of interaction with Alan.

Jock Stewart was last with the Young Dubs and 7 Nations hauled on stage to sing there were 2 at Darrell's mic, 2 at Alan's mic, 3 at Sean's, 2 drummers at the drum set singing (sounds like a CHristmas Carol!) and there was the 7 Nations fiddler between mics and Bob alone at his. LOL! Maybe he never learned to share at Kindergarten! Or it was just too intimidating to share a mic with such greatness! Yeah, that's it! LOL!
After the show, we went around the back to the bus. We saw Tony go in and Darrell and Kris. And then Darrell, Kris and Alan came out. The others may have come out later but we didn't stick around. Karen has school early this morning. Darrell looked at me and Said, "Anne! Thanks for the T-shirts!" I was so surprised he called me by name. Karen asked about the bread and he said they had already eaten some and it was good. He posed for a picture with us (I had BJ Moose's camera) which Cheryl took. I promised Cheryl I wouldn't say anything about her first attempt at the photo. I'll let your imagination run wild. Nancy informed Darrell on the correct way to say Norfolk. Let's just say the word "folk" is not present. Cheryl's better half, Howard, obliged us by taking one with Alan who told Karen he really liked the sign and they had put it in the equipment trailer to save it.

We met Christina from the Virginia Street Team in the parking lot. Poor girl has to work tomorrow. That's a long drive to Virginia. We left Shelly and Kim waiting for the b'ys at the bar across the street. It was only a matter of time for them to arrive. If Bob appeared there, I am going to be upset. But I think Bob and Danny were keeping each other company in the bus. Eating the cinnamon bread, no doubt.

Oh - one more tidbit. There were no photos allowed at the venue. We didn't know this till we got there. Howard and I had to put our cameras behind the beverage counter. But Father Dan had not only the luck of the Irish with him but also the grace of the angels. He turned his camera strap to be across his chest but turned the camera around on his back where you only saw a strap on the front. The ticket guy waved him through and he took about 100 pics for me tonight. Plenty of Bobs. :-) Thank you soooo much Fr. Dan!
Any photos that are with fans are mine the rest belong to Fr. Dan.
