2007 Boston Marathon
This guy reminded me of an elf running! My brother Tom is in the green jacket. Chandra is his daughter.  He was an official cheerleader, capping all the time and yelling encouraging words. That's my brother!
Tom gives a runner the thumbs up and gets a response
The longer the race went on, the more the people who spilled out into the street
Tom used his best teacher/parent voice to get people to move back
Bunny ears were a popular Boston Marathon accessory
Viking hats as well as wings and wigs
Running Hard
I don't think there's any doubt where this guy is from!
All the while, Tom and I searched the faces of the runners. Dora had told us she was ll in black. Unfortunately so were a lot of other people. But we knew she was at the end of the first wave of runners. In the shoes of the runners they put GPS chips that broadcasted the position as they passed certain checkpoints. It would have been helpful to have that technology, but we had to rely on someone calling Tom's cellphone as they only allowed three receivers.  The last phone call we got put her about 30 minutes away from where we  were mid-trolley ride. We were sure she'd be at the checkpoint real soon!
