On the road to Terra Nova
The ferry left late but it gave us a chance to stay up on deck for a while at least until the ferry passed the Sydney lighthouse. I was still playing with how to use my camera and trying all sorts of settings. It made for a whole slew of photos that I eventually deleted. LOL! We didn’t stay long on deck – it was COLD!!!!!!

Here, Candace looks out towards Newfoundland, anxious to see her new home.

I caught Sydney light  and the windmills in the same shot. I'm surprised I don't see more windmills throughout Cape Breton. Seems like a good way to capture the energy.
Forty-five minutes later we were giggling over the Lick-A-Chick chicken restaurant in Bras D’Or, following signs to the Newfoundland Ferry. The above photo was taken on a previous trip.
The Gaelic College's Piper not only didn't mind us taking his photo, but he played for us too! I recommend a week or two at the Gaelic College in the summertimew. The tuition is relatively cheap and is really a bargain for what you get. They even have a session in the US, although I think something is lost in the relocation. If you love Cape Breton music as I do, it's heaven to be surrounded by it 24/7 in that beautiful setting in St. Ann's along the Cabot Trail. Check it out!
