Songwriters Circle
Sunday' Songwriter's Circle was the closing event of the AtlanticFest 2006. It was held at the Fat Cat from 3-5 PM, a time the pub is not usually open. As I was making a sign to advertize the Circle and put it closer to the Street, who should stop by but Candace! And who was with her but Krista! It was nice meeting Krista. She just as excited about Alan in person as online. LOL! Candace helped me out with a poster and the two of them joined us for the first half of the Songwriter's Circle. Then Krista had to meet her relatives to go home.
While we were sign-making, the group was in setting levels for soundcheck. Jim was playing host for the four songwriters up on the stage.

Jackie Sullivan, Colin Harris, Maggie Meyer and Lindsay Ferguson. Colin appointed himself chief engineer for the session, working the sound box.

Lillian sat next to Jim till it was time for the show. I thought it looked like she was going to play guitar and sing too!
Lillian looks good up there! Plus she was wearing her Newfoundland Liberation Army shirt. Gotta love it!
Jackie Sullivan was up first and sang the song I first heard last night - Clouded Like November. She said it took a while to write and was about being confused by a relationship.

"Clouded like November as I try to work things out."
Colin does some last minute mic adjusting.
Jim does the introductions
Jim introduced Colin Harris as being from Port Blanford. I think that is somewhere near Terra Nova Park. I seem to remember signs for it when we were exploring that area 5 years ago.

Jim waxed poetic about being in Port Blanford on a Ham Radio thing with the Boy Scouts years ago. He was offered a cabin or tent. He thought that was a no brainer - cabin in the winter, of course! But the cabin was not finished and had major openings where cold air could get through. He and his friend froze their tails off all night and then went to visit the tenters. What a surprise! The tenters had space heaters in their tents and were actually quite toasty!

Colin stared incredulously at Jim. "I was one of those tenters!"
