Road to Terra Nova 2007 - on a detour!
Lillian hung around just long enough to make sure Jim didn't need anything and then hightailed it off to the side near the ramp, recording the session on the Edirol-R09 for the ROAR (Republic of Avalon Radio). Check out Jim's podcast!
Jim played three songs for the video -  two from Jim's Gypsy CD  Rhythm of the Goat and Rising of the Moon and Ger Wolfe's The Curra Road

The Rising of the Moon, click here I captured some video while standing there. Keep in mind that it was windy and it was recorded with a camera, not a video camera.
Jim has this theory that there is no such thing as a coincidence. I have to admit he's right when I think about my penchant for Flatrock (been going on for years now) and the fact that he was asked to do this gig while I was here in Newfoundland and was Jim & Lillian's transportation. To have the opportunity to spend an hour just drinking in the whole scene was more than satisfying. I was quite happy to be there, watching and listening.
While he sang I looked around and tried to catch some of the scenery when I snapped photos. The little blue boat caught my eye when I took this one. I didn't understand how the guy got down to his boat until I reviewed the photos!

I was intrigued by the set-up to get to the boat, so I took a close-up
I did take plenty more photos, but I'll spare you the boredom and just include a few more on the next page. I do adore Flatrock and if I ever win the lottery, that's where you'll find me in Newfoundland. Well, There or in Middle Cove, Pouch Cove, Ferryland or Twillingate. It's hard to choose!
