It was a lot of fun, singing GBS songs with other folks. Normally, I’m singing in the car with them and maybe a passenger or two. This was great with more than a dozen of us having fun singing and playing. Too soon, it was time to go into the theatre. So we packed up the instruments, put them in the car and went into the theatre.
The photos in this review will be from me, Kristin and Steph. I'll identify whose is whose. I probably will just scatter them throughout and not try to ID what song they're from. Mine have the grainy disposable camera look. Steph's and Kristin's actually look good!
Columbine scored some great tickets! Wow! We were three rows back, stage Bob and Stephanie and Kirk were behind us! There was an empty row in front of us and a familiar face occupied it – the cameraman from last night’s DC show. Okay – maybe this was a band project and not the George Washington University project we thought it was last night. Cool! A USA DVD???? Even better that I'd been to at least three shows they filmed/recorded. Who knows what they're doing with the footage? I didn't get a chance to chat with any band members this trip, except to say Hi to Alan.
As soon as the show began, Columbine and I sensed something was different. We rapidly figured it out – no SMOKE! And the sound seemed perfect for a change. Good sign! Had to be easier for the cameraman.
Captain Kidd opened the show and the b’ys bounded out on stage to adoring fans. The Boston area does love Great Big Sea, a lot! The cameraman in front of us seemed more familiar with the show this evening and was all over the place, even up in the balcony in the front – you know, the Waldorf and Astoria seats from the Muppet Show.
