Springtime at the Shore
2010
Springtime at the Shore On Saturday we decided to go down the shore. I drove down to Lewes, Delaware so we could ride the Cape May-Lewes Ferry across the 17 mile entrance to the Delaware Bay. One had just left, so we were able to be the second in line for the next one. A spot Vic would enjoy immensely. While waiting for the ferry to arrive, I walked along the quay. It was nice and sunny but a stiff wind was blowing and you needed a jacket. I tried to get both lighthouses in the same shot as a pilot boat made its way out to a ship entering the bay.
They have a really great gift shop inside the ferry terminal and even a nautical themed playground for waiting kids.
All of a sudden, I noticed the ferry pulling into the sheltered area. At one point, it looked as though the ferry was going to crash right into the quay, but it turned at the last minute. It had to back up into the dock to let off the cars.
First in line!
