Stanley Park as viewed from Harbour Center
Having left Harbour Center we watched the steam clock "toot" the hour and went over to take a picture of Steamworks, where Maddy and Bruce got to know each other initially. Hey! Might as well lend a little reality to the story, as if it needs it! Drove around Vancouver and Sue pointed out some interesting sites, including the intersections where you DON'T want to stand. Walked around for a while, bought cinnamon buns to satisfy a Mom craving and some souvenirs, Met Sue's friend Kim and friend, had a great cup of tea, enjoyed the Vancouver hospitality, and took Sue back to the hotel to sleep with us. Didn't get e terrific amount of sleep due to the casino bus backing up and loading outside our window at some ungodly hour of the morning. *sigh* Left Vancouver with a feeling that I need three or four more days to sightsee before I'd be satisfied. I have a whole list of stuff to see when I come back!

Drove uneventfully through Customs and across the border to Seattle to pick up Diane at the airport. Sue and Mom had never met Diane so I was the designated looker. Didn't take long to find her in her Hawaii Five-O shirt. Waited for her luggage, Sue and Diane got to hug and chat and left to go back to Portland for the GBS show that evening. Sue and Diane sat in the back and we all had a good time. Mom said we were like high schoolers, all giggly girls. WE talked excitedly about that evening's show and Mom said more than once that she was going to pretend she wasn't with us! LOL! Everyone was present at Marcus' Activist Central, and Gracie Sue and Sunflower Diane were introduced all around to Sarah, Tara, Danni, Marcus, Ian and Melanie. There were several different shades of bright neon hair and many piercings and tattoos around the room. I think Diane was a little shell-shocked. She wasn't in Kansas anymore! Sue didn't seem surprised and took it all in stride. In fact all involved had a chance to break down some stereotypes that week. We must have seemed plenty strange to the kids. A bunch of past-30 year olds, chasing a band around the west coast, dragging Mom. LOL!
