After that, they talked up the merch table out in the lobby.  Sean announced, "My younger and better-looking brother Glenn is here to service you…he'll explain that." Much laughter from the audience and a comment I didn't quite catch from Alan. Then it was time for the last song before intermission.

“Are you in the mood to sing along?”  Alan asked twice. He then turned and stared hard as a security person approached the stage and strode purposefully up the steps by the side of the stage.

"I thought for a minute he was coming up here to escort me off the stage!" said a relieved Alan.

“I was looking for a big hook…” commented Séan.

And then they went onto
Run Runaway. The audience did not need to be asked to participate, dancing, clapping and singing. I did miss the singalongs though.
Westhampton Beach
GBS October 2009
Intermission was nice. I stayed at my seat and chatted with the people around me. Sheila and Tim, mother and son, were attending their first GBS show. They'd been fans for quite a while but this was their first opportunity to see them. Two happy campers behind me.

Scott and Christopher who were all of four years old, had not gone to sleep and had indeed been seen singing along to most of the songs. Scott has assigned a GBS song to everyone in the family. His is
Jack Hinks, his brother's song is When I Am King and his parent's song is Gideon Brown. I think GBS did almost all their favorites tonight.

I had a nice conversation with Michele tonight and Audrey and Jean-Marie. Always good to meet OKPeople you haven't seen recently at shows. Everyone around me seemed to be enjoying themselves, lots of smiles shared among the audience tonight at intermission. I was wondering how long it would take Alan to convince the sitters to stand. It would eventually  happen, but it took a while. Had to wait until deep in the second set.
