"We're well into the show and I haven't introduced Kris yet. I giggle every time I say 'that was Kris on the organ' for that song," Alan said, mischievously.

"Yeah, he's not a bad hand on the organ," chortled Sean.

There were other punny things said about hands on organs and then the conversation turned to Alan's being King. Guess what song came next? That's right,
When I Am King. This was the day before the Democratic National Convention in Denver so all the talk here was about the US presidential election. "I could be Vice King!" said Alan, "The unknown nominee could be me! "

"Only if you are running with Obama," said Sean.

"I could never forget the name of the other guy, I just think of those frozen french fries from MacFarlane's neck of the woods...Nova Scotia? New Brunswick? - McCain's frozen fries! I'll take the gig if either one of them wants me. I'll be the first folk singing Newfoundlander vice preseident in the US! Tell them to nominate me!"

At this point, VIc wanted to know what was Alan on? He seemed to go off in all directions, even more than usual at a show. They were all over the place during this show. It was a bit confusing.

Hard Case came next and I watched Bob when I could. This was my view when I couldn't.
I noticed something the other night at Dewey Beach and checked it out tonight. I noticed that after Bob played the whistle, he gets those shakers up and starts shaking, but then stops to figure out exactly what the beat is. And like Dewey Beach, Alan and Sean traded lead singing places and Sean sang some nice high harmonies.

"Are you in the mood to sing?" of course everyone yelled "yes."  Alan continued, "Remember... when I am king...SING!" And he started right into the "Nah nah" chorus of
Company of Fools. They kept the lights on the audience while we sang along in the choruses. At the end, when the audience had sung the last "Nah nah nahineeyootineedah," Alan yelled into the mic, "This kingdom rules! All the other kingdoms suck!"
The next scene shocked me as all of a sudden, all the by's put their instruments away. Wait a minute! Were we going to get River Driver? NO!

Sean began singing with no introduction, in a clear voice,
General Taylor! I did not expect that at all since he had already dedicated England to his brother. He usually dedicates GT to Kevin. And then, just as suddenly he disappeared. Look at the photo below. Where is he?
Look down between Alan and Bob. He is right there on the stage, sitting down at the edge. He really put it all into the song. As I listened I could hear a little rasp in his voice, like he was going to lose it tomorrow. But he "done good" and especially those in the front deeply appreciated his effort.
"The only gig I could get was right here"
