I ordinarily don't put my political views out there for everyone to see, but Barack Obama has really captured my interest as no other candidate has in decades. I have to lend my support to a man that I think can represent who I am and what I stand for. Whoever you are suporting for president, vote in the primaries and in the general election. It's a precious right you have.
Obama made some whistle stops on the R5 route of the SEPTA train line on the 19th of April. Over 3,000 people crowded into the Paoli train station to see/hear him. I didn't realize there were that many Obama supporters in my neighborhood! Nice to see and good hope for the primary outcome. He is a very charismatic person and had the crowd from the first "Hello Paoli!" I wish I had been able to get a photo of the look of delight on a young child's face when his Mama pointed out the candidate to him. It was priceless! I am sure most in the audience felt the same way, but as grown-ups we didn't show it.

VOTE! It's a privilege and a right.
The people weren't up there long. The Secret Service kept them moving down thru the security checkpoint - it was just like being at the airport!
Barack made sure that he adressed everyone there, turning to speak to the people surrounding his podium on three sides.
I was a kid when I saw JFK in person near my house. My father was always invloved in politics and so we all were too. Made a deep impression on me at the time. Maybe it will for this kid too.
They estimated that 3,000 people crwded into the small train station. Obama mentioned that he certainly was not perfect, as he was reminded of that often by his wife. And he would not be a perfect candidate nor a perfect president. But he said that he will always tell the people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear, and that will make it hard in Washington and the country. It's a breath of fresh air as far as I'm concerned.
The Train for Change, an old style campaign car pulled by modern engines, leaves on the way to Downingtown, Pennsylvania, accompanied by cries of "Yes We Can!" from the faithful.
I have not felt this way about a candidate since John F. Kennedy in the 60's. And then I was too young to vote. For the past 20 years or so I have been voting for the lesser of two evils, voting against a candidate rather than FOR a candidate. This year God willing, I will get to vote FOR a candidate - Barack Obama.
